Yonezawa Embroidery(Japanese Embroidery)

Japanese embroidery has old history. It came to Japan from China with buddhism around 5 century. Over time, shishu developed its own unique Japanese style. Most of the current technique are developed by masters lived 400 to 300 years ago. Akemi Nakajima, an artist of Japanese embroidery, makes work using the thread of plant dyeing unique to Yonezawa.
